Week Off

After nets, and my FIL's departure to Srirangam and R's discharge from HOSMAT, its been quite a eventful week.Had been to chennai on Mon and Tuesday. all over there. the last 3 days have not stayed in my memory. office, as usual, more meetings and more things to learn. been hotting up slowly. have gotto wake up and go for nets tomow, but i guess rain has spoiled the day. anyway there's a match scheduled for tomow against Accenture. After lot of confusion and deliberations, this has been decided upon. i still have some seeds of doubt, not because of rain but because of other teams that will come over. its gonna be a mess and i hope i dont end up wasting another day at the ground ! MIL is leaving tomow for trichy, thanks to her, without her we all would have been struggling. Sunil had been home last nite for dinner and tonight Ganz and Chitra are due. Tom'w Willy and Sunil again. man am so fuc'n busy !!

HOSMAT days

Fortunately the days were numbered and are a thing of recent past. R is fine now and with her mom beside, all the more better. The Vroom debate went on for a while and they decided on the best car, Baleno. and now with some modifications and same price, all the more joy in owning it.

Back ache or pain occurs to almost any living vertebrate. one shd exercise caution while doing so many activities :) more important is that we should exercise everyday to strengthen the muscles at the back.

last few days went by so fast and soon am coming to another weekend. cant believe time runs so fast. Ben Johnson on dope couldnt have been any faster.

Dad is coming over this weekend and am traveling to chennai with him for a couple of days. would be back to office on wednesday. then cricket matches will start and there are many to play this season. also tomorrow i should wake up early and present myself at IAF grounds for nets.

The new Vroom debate

From Ashes and the parade that ensued, watching india struggling against a struggling Zim is quite insipid to say the least. Ganz has decided to go for a new car and the usual research and analysis happened. Not sure what the outcome would be, but i would prefer him buying anything but Esteem. More because i have one and would prefer some variety. Sunil is supposed to return from US this weeken, been long since we sat over the table. Eagerly awaiting his arrival. There's a match against Accenture this weekend, in Colors tournament. The green top and white tracks should fill some energy into the sagging souls of my team. Getting busier by the day here, work is heating up and nice for me. Cant be idle any longer.

Transition from tranquility to tumultuous

Had a good darshan at Sringeri, mahasannidanam, was usual his graceful self. Went to Horanadu and saw one of the most powerful and beautiful gooddess, Annapoorneshwari. Also the usual visit to Vana Durga ensued. We took the return train from Beerur and reached Bangalore, it was a struggle finding auto in the "pre-paid" counter. Reached home and hit the bed without any second thoughts. Usual monday at office, wife had some party late into the evening, she reached home by 9:30. Ashes was into the last day, whatta series it has been, Warne and Freddie were men of the series for their respective teams, a new award "Comptom-someone" was introduced and Andrew Flintoff won it for his exploits.

today morning, R's athai and her son visited us, again it was one hell of a thing to find an auto. Somehow they managed one neat 100 ft road in indiranagar.

Sringeri Oguthini

i thought i woudn't be free today, but God has his will and this is possible. Read about shane Warne's heriocs in cricinfo.com, in the final Ashes test. Too early to pass any comments on this test considering the last 3. Read lot of mails in our group site, xxx-t, some Bday wishes, wishes to Mani and Guha's picture. Good to see our guys making it big. incidentally i met Guha 2 days back at Barista.

Shall leave for Sringeri tonite and will be back on Sunday nite. until then, byee, gotto catch up with Warne and Ashes :)

It does Dawn

A quarter final match against Accenture at BEL grounds, 12:30. They batted first, managed a decent 170/8 in 25 overs. Sumanth and Arun bowled very well. the backup bowlers did a decent job, though i felt we should be pegged them back a little during middle overs. it didnt help that Ajay and others bowled on both sides of the wicket and gave away easy runs. nevertheless 170 is chase-able score. Mahesh and i opened, and we were off to a decent start, but i was ranout first ball of 2nd over. Mahesh was in ominous touch, carved a huge six over covers in the 2nd over but he was left at the non-strikers end for so long that he holed out to short covers very soon. from then on, the chase was insipid and cisco batters were well below par, bowling was very ordinary, but they managed to take regular wickets, almost with every over a wicket went down. in the end we lost by a huge margin to an ordinary bowling attack, but our batters could not put bat to ball to their slow bowlers and it did us in. there are 3 more tournaments coming up this year and hopefully we should see better performances.
Saturday nite, heavy rains, wiper hustling and rumbling like a hungry lion, the scene was set for a Mani Ratnam's night shot. Me and R reached the cantonment station 90 mts before the scheduled arrival of the express. it was really cold, both were very drowsy and i slept on the platform like a beggar! She being a girl, didnt. Qualis awaited us at the chennai central and we had typical madras filter coffee at the kalyana mandapam in KK Nagar, thanks to Karthik's marriage. Home, family, the usual, i dropped R at another marriage hall, returned home,in full sweat, chennai was not very hot, but humidity has always been a botheration. had a good sleep, evening dressed up and went for Lalli's reception.Met many of her relatives, had a grand dinner and returned home, settled in a comfortable AC room. B'day wish came 2 hrs before the scheduled time, from my wife. And by the time i woke up, she was gone, to marriage hall. it didnt help that there were 2 marriages on the same day, total chaos with frequent trips to and fro.Mom,sis and dad wished me, sis gave a pen, mom a light blue kurta. Again to Karthik's mandapam, the sacred "thaali" took some knots and i took an auto straight to Greams Road,MRF. Picked up a sexy bat for Shashi. nice wood, thick meat and big edges, straight grains, one cant ask for more. it was a nice piece of wood one would admit. retured to the mandap, usual haggles with auto wala happened, lunch and then off to Central. LalBagh was waiting for us. Trip was quite boring, there were scores of people around, all unreserved assholes were inside. It didnt help that train ran slower than it normally does and we reached late, there were no autos in prepaid counter !! Somehow managed one and reached home by 11:00 or so. Felt very sick, both of us the next day. Fever, cold, sore throat. Went late to office, we had a meeting and i returned home after that.Could not sit there anymore. Ganesh Chathurthi was a blessing in disguise, we had good rest. Had "mullangi" sambar and beans curry. Met Subbu in the afternoon, watched "Mahakavi Kaalidaas" on Vijay TV. Wife was deep asleep. Went to meet Shashi around 5:30, spent about 2 hrs with him, gopi joined in late. Met Guha in Barista. Good luck mate :-) So one more likely to tie the knot. Watched "Run" at home, villain was very handsome. Herione,Jasmine or whatever looked very pretty. Slept off and yo in office again. Got shit loads to do. Am off to sringeri this weekend with family. So might not update for a few days, bear with me.
